Speaker Shipping.
Safe packing for shipping your speakers.
If you need to ship your speakers to us we use and recommend Canada Post for local or regional customers. If you are shipping from other provinces or countries, please call to determine the best and safest carrier.
If you need to ship your speakers to us for repair, remember to include a note with your contact information, and a description of the fault; odd as it seems, packages do arrive without. When shipping hi-fi speaker systems for repair the original boxes are best. If you don't have original boxes it’s best to buy boxes a couple of inches larger than the speakers - to allow room for bubble-wrap, or other packing. Sheets of expanded polystyrene (EPS) are cheap, light, and crush to absorb abuse. Wrap your speakers in plastic bags to protect them from scuffing. Never use loose 'peanuts' for packing as they will migrate during shipping, damaging delicate cones.
For shipping raw drivers, removed from enclosures, use a sturdy cardboard box a little bigger than the driver. Cut a piece of scrap plywood to fit the bottom. Wrap the driver in a plastic bag, then fasten it, face down, onto the plywood, using nuts and bolts or wood screws. Make a cushion-pad from 2~4 layers of cardboard to protect the magnet. The top of the box must not bulge outwards, or it will be unstable, and more likely to take a fall. Small drivers should have their faces protected with cardboard, then be wrapped in a couple of layers of bubble-wrap.
